SAN SALVADOR, julio 2, 2008.- Canada crushed Dominican Republic 3-0 to finís with an unbeaten record the preliminary round of Pool A in the U-21 Norceca Men’s Volleyball Championship. The sets ended 25-20, 25-10, 25-21.

With their three victories, the Canadians advanced to the semi final round and left the Dominicans with a 1-2 record waiting for the outcome of the match between Puerto Rico and USA to define the other two qualified teams.

The Dominicans presented some resistance in the first set but in the next two it seemed to be only one team on the court.

“The controlled game and the effective practice of our system were the keys,” said Chris Green, the Canadian coach.

“We still came improve, and I hope that in the new phase other aspects can also function, but I have tos ay that I feel satisfied with the performance of my players.”

Meanwhile, Jacinto Campechano described the last two matches as disastrous “something that we must improve the rest of the way.”

Joren Zeemand and Frederic Monclu were the best Canucks with 10 and 7 points respectively and Pedro Garcia once again led the Dominicans with 16 tallies.
